was started as hobby to help other online artisans be seen for free by Christy Arneson March 18th 2018. The idea hinged on creating content that could easily be shared and seen throughout the community. Thus began the Facebook page and it quickly took off with over 4450 likes at the end of it's second year.
Other artisans that had worked with her at other shows she had helped arrange or sell at asked her to host some larger events. This began the two day state Artisan Fairs and one day Artisan Markets. Midwest Handmade's shows are always indoors, and only handmade.
Christy is always looking for more ways to help her fellow artisans, either with the free shop features, or keeping her other services affordable such as hosting giveaways, product photography and more.
Christy's family and friends were hesitant at first to have her add another thing to her plate, but quickly hopped on board after seeing the passion she had for it.
Ryan her husband helps with tech support and finance. Pickles her mother helps with signage, PR, and more. Sam her best friend is a runner at the big shows helping our artisans with booth watching, grabbing glasses of water for them and more.
Christy's children ages 16, 14, and 12 also help at the shows when they can helping with the children's games which help fund some of Midwest Handmade.
